Where do your pet photography sessions take place?
My pet photography sessions are flexible and can take place at your home, outdoors at a favourite walking location, or at another suitable location across Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. I’m based in Haddenham and regularly work around Aylesbury, Thame, High Wycombe, Oxford and the surrounding areas.
What pets do you photograph?
Although many of my sessions are dog photography sessions, I’m happy to photograph all kinds of pets. Whether you have a puppy, an older dog, a cat or another much-loved companion, the session will be adapted around their individual personality and temperament.
What if my dog won’t sit still for photographs?
That’s absolutely fine, your dog doesn’t need to be perfectly trained! Pet photography is about capturing personality rather than expecting your dog to pose perfectly. I allow plenty of time for your pet to settle, explore and get comfortable, using treats, toys and natural interaction where appropriate.
Does my dog need to be off the lead?
Not at all. Your dog's safety always comes first. If they need to remain on a lead during an outdoor pet photography session, that is completely fine. Where suitable, leads can also be carefully removed from selected photographs during the editing process.
How long does a pet photography session take?
The length of the session depends on the package you choose and your pet themselves. I keep sessions relaxed and give pets time to become comfortable rather than rushing them, particularly if they are nervous, excitable or easily distracted.
Can I be photographed with my pet?
Absolutely. Pet portraits don’t have to be just about your dog or pet. I’m very happy to include owners, couples, children or the whole family so you can have photographs that capture the relationship you share with them.
What should I bring to a dog photography session?
It’s useful to bring some of your dog's favourite treats, a toy they respond well to and their usual lead. You may also want to bring a favourite accessory such as a collar, bandana or blanket, although keeping things simple often produces the most natural photographs.
What happens if my pet is nervous or camera shy?
There is no pressure for your pet to perform. I take a calm and patient approach, giving nervous pets plenty of space and time to become comfortable with me and the camera. The aim is to create a relaxed experience and capture genuine expressions rather than forced poses.
How will I receive my pet photographs?
Your chosen images will be professionally edited and supplied in high resolution through a secure private online gallery. This makes it easy to view your photographs and download your finished images to keep, share and enjoy.
How much does pet photography cost?
Pet photography sessions are available with a range of packages depending on the type of session and number of finished images you would like.
